Genevieve McGarvey joined McLeod, Alexander, Powel & Apffel, P.C. in 1988, following service as a Police Sergeant with The University of Texas at Houston Police Department and as a Risk Management Specialist with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s Legal Affairs office while attending law school. Mrs. McGarvey’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation. She has experience in such diverse cases including medical malpractice claims, products liability cases, real estate disputes, life insurance cases, civil rights litigation and complex family law cases. She has also represented individual physicians before the Texas Medical Board. Mrs. McGarvey also serves as ad litem and mediator for the District and County Courts of Galveston County.
Since joining the Firm, Mrs. McGarvey has continued a substantial litigation practice for individuals as well as for defense clients including The University of Texas System, The Medical Protective Company, U.S. Financial Life Insurance Company, and Texas Municipal League.
