Mr. Bashline joined the Firm in 1980, following Army service as a helicopter pilot, including two combat tours in the Viet Nam conflict. He specializes in complex civil litigation, including the continued development of the trial practice of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Group.

He has trial experience in such diverse cases as securities fraud claims, including civil RICO issues; employment law claims on behalf of both employers and employees; oil and gas lease disputes; commercial real estate disputes; law and medical partnership breakups, lender liability claims, medical malpractice defense; Oil Spill Recovery Act suits; Jones Act, FELA, and Longshore claims; product liability claims from automotive, agricultural, and aviation equipment; insurance coverage litigation for both insureds and insurers, and in early years with the Firm, numerous auto accident, slip and fall, and Workers' Compensation suits appealing from Board awards. He has also represented clients before American Arbitration Association panels, and is a trained mediator.

Additionally, beginning a few months after joining the Firm, and continuously since, he has maintained a substantial toxic tort and environmental damage practice for clients including Exxon Mobil Corporation, BNSF Railway Company, and Unimin Corporation.
